home xp problem

I am using a toshiba satellite 2410-601 pc. When switching the pc on a popup appears saying modf, which again appears when connecting to the internet. A number of RPC errors have occured when on the internet, which shut down the pc and now the internet is slow with pop ups appearing trying to close the browser. can anyone help?

First thing to find out are the problems due to viruses , trojans or other
non system software meant to purposely case damage . Run a updated virus
scan , run the trojan scanner Stinger , (free off the web) , run Adaware
(free off the web) . Once you have eliminated these nasties you can look
into the operating system problems. Of course you are behind a firewall and
use banner and popup ad blocking software! Jym
