home premium sp1 to ultimate

here is the thing, i have home premium sp1 on my laptop and i got ultimate
version (upgrade) dvd, can i just install it and upgrade or i have to remove
sp1 before installation!thanks in advance

You would need to uninstall SP1 before upgrading.

Is this really true if you purchase one of the new versions of the retail
upgrades which include SP1?
