I use FP 2002. I have one site up that I've never had a problem with. Today,
I created a simple one-page site and signed up for Yahoo web hosting (the
other site I manage is there, too). I created the one-page site and named the
page "index.htm." When I publish it, I get a dialogue box saying that it
published. When I go to the site, though, the placeholder Yahoo page is
there. I've refreshed and it doesn't make a difference. I tried putting in
the web address with /index.htm at the end. Still nothing. Yahoo says to make
sure that my page is named index.htm or index.html, which it is. What do I
need to do in order to actually see my new site?

Hi Wiley,

I am guessing that you now have what Yahoo considers to be two home
pages..try opening your online site that you published the 1 page to. and
renaming the Yahoo placeholder page to something else..and then see if your
page shows up.

If it's a newly registered domain name you may have to wait a day or so
before publishing.

If your Yahoo account has FP extensions enabled and working;
Open FP
Open Web/Site
enter your domain name http://www.whatever.com
you'll be prompted for your un/pw, enter them
this will open the site "live" and you'll see any files that are there -
don't mess with what may be there except for ....
Look for index.htm or index.html...try renaming to index2.html or htm.
Close remote web.

Open your local web and try publishing to remote.

| How do I open the Yahoo placeholder page so I can rename it?
