Home Page Incorrect

One of my favorite places is coming up as my Home Page. The Home Page is
correct in IPs. I re-entered the address and hit Apply again. It doesn't
change. I've deleted the page from Favorites. I've tried recycling as well.
Any suggestions?

You might have been Hijacked. Did you run a spywear program to check?
Does it always go to a certain web page, if yes it is a good chance you
were hijacked.

Sound like spyware or adware has hijacked the home page. I suggest
you start with Spybot Search & Destroy (with updated signatures) and
Ad-Aware (with updated signatures). If those don't fix it, then you
need to find a "Hijack This!" forum and post the logs for furher
assistance.

I have run Spybot and Adaware as well as Microsoft Spyware. I will try
Hijackthis. Thanks!

You might try changing your Home Page to Blank Page. Reboot and then change
it to the Home Page of your choice.

Hi Tammi,

Open your Task Manager and see if there's something named smssu.exe
running. You're looking for the one with a U on the end, not smss.exe.

I have a similar prooblem, but don't believe that I've been hijacked. Years
ago, I set my home page to "blank" but now want to change it to the Google
Website. I'm unable to enter a new address through Internet Options, as the
Home Page area is greyed out and I cannot change it. Probably something
simpple, but I've long since forgotten what.

In Internet Explorer Tools, Internet Options, General. Enter address for
Google, click on Apply and OK. Close Internet Explorer and Restart your
computer.
