Browser home page

Hello to any MVP

I like to have my home page browser as "BLANK" and I let no one invade it
try as they may. And they try indeed. In the "Internet option " home page
section I keep it on "BLANK" and my "SPY BOT" program prevent any change.

But this protection is good against the whole world, not against
Microsoft.

Sometimes they invade my home page with their IE update page and I can't
remove it despite the fact that the "Home page " section in the Internet
option windows calls for a "blank" page , Microsoft page keep coming up and
I can not change this.

Two years ago I had the same thing. An MVP here helped me rectify it and I
wonder if there is another MVP here to help me this time.

Many thanks

Janet

Are you using Messenger or something that is set to open the MSN page at
startup?

Not an MVP.

In Internet Explorer select Tools, Internet Options, General tab and
click on Blank Page, Apply and OK.

If you want something different I seem to remember selecting Blank Page
and after restarting the computer changing Blank Page to my desired Home
Page. It needed Blank Page as an intermediate step.

Hope this helps.

Many thanks to (e-mail address removed) for the many programs you made available here.
I'll use them in many other cases if need be.

However:
The problem was solved when I realized that the SPYBOT program was trying to
prevent any registry change, and when I didn't permit that change, I have
contrasted my own attempt to set a "Blank page" in the internet option
windows.

Once I "saw the light" as my priest keep saying, :) I simply allowed the
change to be made in SPYBOT and voila...it was done.

Many thanks and happy new year to all

Janet

P.S.

to the question of what Microsoft page did it, it was the IE update page
that offer a beta try of IE 8 and I am very happy with my "7" version and
need no upgrade. Last time it happened it was also with IE that took me from
IE "6" to IE 7.
And NO I don't use MSN or any of those quick contact tools.
