Lose web page password signin when changing pages

When I enter a web page from a favorites selection, I get logged in by my
password correctly and recognized even on a refresh. But when I try to
change pages, I lose password recognition and get logged out. I cannot log
back on with my user name/password. This occurs with IE and Firefox on
multiple sites.
I recently removed several video drivers via the control panel/system
I tried a restore but did not change the problem
Is the registry damaged?

can I add a 3rd drive? a SATA with new PCI controller and install XP on it,
making my old boot drive a program/data drive?

P4 2400 2 IDE hd's Dell 8250
XP Home SP2 with latest upgrades and MS updates
1 admin account, no other user accounts, guest deleted

Yes, you can install windows on any existing blank partition.

It sounds a bit like you are refusing cookies.

cookies are enabled in both IE7 and Firefox, no cookie restrictions
is there a cookie approval register in the registry?

Losing password recognition in a server session is not likely to be your
systems fault.
