home page hijacking

I'm having problems with "http://if.searchcentrix.com"
and "http://search-click.com" periodically hijacking my
home page. I'm constantly resetting it, but now
encounter problems with the attempted hijacking screwing
up my DSL connection such that I get the error that there
was a failure to connect to the server. This has
happened 3 times this morning and I have to power down my
modem and router to make it work.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

I had a similar problem recently . I found several
registry entries and 3 entries under Program Files ,the
offending spyware had also built it's own new Network Dial
Up Connection . In my case the file was bpat.exe , it may
be worth doing a search for that or check your running
processes for anything that shouldn't be there.

First eliminate any scumware.
See
Dealing with Unwanted Spyware, Parasites, Toolbars and Search Engines
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.
