I have had this problem for awhile. It seemed to arise after a visit of
unwanted software (no cease and decist here). I believe I got everthing
cleaned out except for this problem. Nothing shows on Norton antivirus,
Spybot S-D, Ad-Aware; I open IE 6.0.28 and the url is "
http://internet explorer/" with an error page below.
I would tap my home page and it would adjust itself, but after spending an
inordinate amount of time fixing another pc, I decided to get this up to
spec. I did some searches but found nothing. This is a 98 se machine 512 MB
, 80GB hd, and I would greatly appreciate any tweak or rearrangement that
would resolve this.
Have a great day!

Hi,

Seeing as you have tried AdAware and Spybot, try the following:

This is best done by a program called BHOCop. It,
along with the rest of the programs, are freely available.
You can download BHOcop, and view an introduction to it,
from the following sites:

Download from:
http://support.honour.ca/bin/bhocop.zip
Introduction at:
http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,97081,00.asp

Once you download the file, run it, and install the program.
Then remove all objects you find that you are not familiar with.

Next, download HijackThis! from the following site:

http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/hijackthis.zip

This is a powerful program that allows for the viewing and deleting of
registry and configuration entries associated with Internet Explorer. If you are
technically familiar with the use of this type of software, its use and
operation is self-explanatory. However, misuse of this software can lead to
serious problems - thus, if you have any questions *do not hesitate to ask*.

To restate - if you have *any* questions about the use of this software, or
what to remove, I strongly recommend you to take a log, and post it to the
following forum which is better equipt to deal with HijackThis! logs:

http://forums.spywareinfo.com/

The experts there will usually reply within minutes of your posting your
log, and will instruct you exactly what to do. Generally speaking, this is the
recommended course of action.

If you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to ask,

Best regards,

Altrus

unknown there to make a move, so I am giving it a day or so. Thanks for the
