Home Networking

A

Alan Lee

I have a small LAN running at home with 3 PC's attached.
A: runs W2000 and also has an ADSL connection
B: runs WXP
C: runs W98
There is a 4-way hub but no router and until recently the network ran fine
and both B & C were able to access the internet through A.
I now have the problem where A can see both B&C and I can share files from
A.
C&B can see each other but neither can see A. So Pinging from A is OK but to
A fails.

I have Workgroups set up. On B, for instance I used to have to log on to the
network to get to A.
Now in Explorer I can see A listed but when I try to connect I get the
message :
\\Dell is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network
resource. Please see the administrator ..

I have tried & failed to find how to unblock this problem. Can anyone offer
suggestions.
TIA. Alan
