Help! I have two PC's which both run Windows XP Professional. They are both connected to the internet via a Linksys router. At first, I wanted to share my local printer so that my fiancee could print from it without having to copy the file to a floppy and so forth. Neither were on the same workgroup so I matched them up. She could print just fine. I also got "net send" to work. I could "back door" my shared drive from her PC but I could not do the same to her shared drive from mine. Like an idiot, I messed with it further and now I can't get the printer or the drives to work. "Net send" doesn't work either. I ran the wizard but each PC only shows itself in the work group. Any suggestions?

Thank you,

Jimi

Ok. I got it to where my fiancees PC can "back door" mine and use my printer. It shows my computer name in the workgroup on her PC. Everything looks right when you are working on her PC. However, you look at my PC and her PC name is not showing on mine. I cannot "back door" her PC or anything

Ok. I figured it out. On my fiancees PC, under the properties for the network connection, printer and file sharing was checked but the check box was slightly greyed. I unchecked that and then rechecked it. After applying the changes, everything is working smoothly including net send. Thank you to anyone who looked this over and gave it some thought. I'm just either an idiot or I got tired an over looked the obvious. When you work in PC support and you over look something or cant figure it out, it kind of gets to you

Thank you all

Jimi
