I'm trying to set up a home network. I used the XP Home Network Wizard, and
have the XP computers hooked up no problem. But I haven't the slightest idea
how to hook my Win 2000 Pro computers into the aforementioned network.

For the record, the computers already have internet access through a D-Link
DI-604 Router. I am merely trying to get them so I can share files between
the computers, as well as get the printers on the network. Any and all help
is appreciated.

XP's Network Setup Wizard won't run on Win 2000. Fortunately, you
don't have to run the Wizard on any computer, even though it tells you
to. The default Win 2000 network settings (obtain an IP address
automatically) should work for connecting to the Internet and the LAN
through your router.

While it's not strictly necessary, specifying the same workgroup name
on all of the XP and 2000 computers will make sharing files and
printers a little easier. XP's default workgroup name is MSHOME.

On Win 2000, right-click the local area connection and make sure that
these network components are installed:

Client for Microsoft Networks
File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks

Right-click and share desired disks, folders, and printers.
