Hi.

I am trying to create a home network with my 2 laptops. One is running XP and the other one Vista. I am connected on the internet via a wirless router.

I tried creating a home network from XP and it seems that I can connect from one to another (to share files) but I have some questions.

1) When I try to connect from Vista to the XP, I am not prompted a password, but from XP to Vista I have to type a username and pass. Is there someway I can also apply this for connection of Vista to XP?

2) I dont understand why the workgroup name has to be the same for both computers. Even when the name is different I can still connect to one another. Could you please explain?

3) Is it safe to create a network like this and to share files? I assume that this is not open to other computers except the ones connected on my Wifi connection right?

Many thanks.
