Home Network - Windows XP Home Edition

I have Windows XP Home Edition on both my desktop PC and laptop. My desktop
is hard-wired to the internet and a wireless router. The laptop is free to
roam around the house using a wireless connection.

I have Office 2003 installed on my desktop only. How do I set up my
computers/make a network so that when I check email with Outlook both
computers show the same emails. For example, if I send an email from my
laptop I'd like to see the sent email on both the desktop and laptop. Do I
need two copies of Office? Or can I run just one copy but "share" it over the
network between the desktop and laptop?

Also on another note, my desktop has a TV tuner card in it so I can watch
TV. Is it possible to open the TV program over the network and be able to
watch TV on the laptop (wirelessly).

And I should also relate this to my other post about user accounts (in the
security forum -

). How do I do all this with the laptop which will also be part of the
network?

Hopefully I explained what I want to do correctly. I am just getting in to
the whole idea of home networking.

You could, theoretically, use Virtual Network Computing (VNC), and control the
desktop computer desktop from the laptop computer. I use UltraVNC, to support a
variety of computers remotely. You just have to have somebody at the remote
computer who knows how to run a script, and load the VNC client.

You probably should ask this in one of the Outlook newsgroups. Here's a
list of all MS public newsgroups: http://aumha.org/nntp.php

That said, you might use MS Synctoy
(http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/digitalphotography/prophoto/synctoy.mspx)
to synchronize your *.pst file between the two computers. Or see
http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/sync.htm, which is a couple of years
out of date.

If you had Win XP Pro on the pc with the TV Tuner, you probably could
use Remote Destop to watch TV over the network. Otherwise, check out
http://www.videolan.org/ which supposedly has the capability you want,
but you'll have to do some digging to find out how to do it.
