Home Network/shared internet problems!!!

Dave Gunderson

I have had enormous problems trying to get my desktop and
laptop to share the adsl internet connection. The 2
computers are connected with a crossover cable.

The laptop cannot access the internet. I get the
message "The dependency service or group failed to
start". I think I have isolated the problem to my
inability to initiate internet connect sharing on the host
computer. Even tho I am logged on as ADMIN, I am totally
unable to initiate the firewall or allow sharing of the
internet connection!! The event viewer indicates error
1068 - severvice failed to start. In MMC, as
administrator, I can't change any services. I have never
found anything I couldn't before as administrator. Help!!!
The knowledge database is no help.

Looks like the a remote access service failed to start. Reset the services
configuration to defaults:

Above is a famouse BlackViper site which has a-z about Service
Configurations.
