Home network problem

Up until today I had no problems networking my computer
("host") with my son's ("client"). Now, my son's computer
will not connect to the internet and the other's shared
files do not show up in either of our network places. I
have run the troubleshooters, network wizard, checked
everything, double-checked IP addresses and everything
else I can think of. But the end result is that our
computers will not communicate.

We both have XP Home installed.

I tried the website and workgroup guide but still not able to resolve. Any
more ideas to help?
