Home network help

L

Lauren

I have been trying to set up my home network today with
no avail.

The 'home' computer is Windows XP home edition with a
direct connection to the internet

the second computer is Windows XP pro with a wireless
connection to the internet.

I have run all the wizards and troublshooting but the
computers are still not communicating with each other.
The internet on both computers works fine (they both go
through a router). When i am on the home computer and
look at my WORKGROUP COMPUTERS both the upstairs (home)
and downstairs (second) computers come up. I can click
on the upstairs one and it lists all the stuff i have
selected to share, but when i click on the downstairs one
i get this error message:

"Downstairs is not accessible. You might not have
permission to use this network resource. Contact the
administrattor of this server to find out if you have
access permissions. The network path was not found"

I get the same message on the downstairs computer saying
Home is not accessible.

Does anybody know what this means??

1. On the XP Pro computer use the Computer Management console to enable the
Guest account.

2. On the XP Pro computer open Local Security Policy/Local
Policies/Security Options. Change - Account: Limit local account use of
blank passwords ... to Disabled.

3. On both computers disable the firewall.
