My Windows 2000 professional laptop must be hold on boot up (waited more
than 30 mins) blue screen at the 1st boot up time. In this screen, no any
text message and picture. But mouse can move. When I restart again (2nd boot
up, boot up to sign on screen less than 2 mins) then resume to normal. I try
to stop all start-up program by regedit. But result still exist. When I boot
up from safe mode, then can boot up normal. Please help me.

Instead of attacking the registry to manage your startup tasks,
use msconfig.exe (http://www.svrops.com/svrops/dwnldoth.htm).
It's much more comprehensive.

This occurs when I log on. I tried ms config, but I get a window with
nothing by an sms directory. I wish someone could make windows less
complicatied. I had to bye a anti-spyware product to correct this. MVP:
Please give more detailed information then simply 'don't attack the
registry'. I assume that MVP means that you know how to fix this. So please
come down to earth and share you're knowledge, else what use is it?

My reply was addressed at the OP. Since he knows how to
modify the registry, he would also know how to download
and run a program, hence my condensed wording.

If you have a problem of your own then you should start
a thread of your own and describe its symptoms in detail.
Someone will then respond at a level that is meaningful
to you.
