ho do i reset the cursor size?

In Word 2006 my cursor suddenly became a little dot. how may i reset it to
the standard vertical line?

AFAIK there is no Word 2006, but what usually works in all existing versions
is to switch to 500% Zoom and back.

That's usually a display glitch that can be "fixed" by changing the zoom
level, then changing it back. E.g., zoom to 150%, then zoom back to 100% (or
wherever you prefer).
