hl-dt-st dvd+rw gra-4120b will not recognize blank dvd

dvd -rw Will play fine but when I go to burn something it will not recognize
any blanks Have tryed diffent brands and have reloaded drivers. but still no
good.

XP has CD burning capabilities. What software has been installed to burn to
DVDs?
