Hit Counter

I am having trouble with my hit counter, it only shows up
after there is a search done on that page, I inserted it
and deleted it many times but I have no luck, can anyone
help?
 
In which part of the page are you
inserting the hit counter??

Is it "live" where we can see it??
 
The hit counter is at the bottom of the page,
It's an intranet so you wont be able to see it. I use to
have a hit counter in the same spot before, but after I
changed a few things on the page it wont work anymore
