History view in Opn/Save dialogue excruciatingly slow

Whenever I click on "History" I have to wait about half a minute before any
files are shown.

Also, the most recent files and folders are not shown. THis is when I save a
file in one program, then switch to another to open or link to that file.
This can affect the file itself or the directory containing it.

Another troublesome annoyance isthat files are not sorted by date/time,
which they should be. If I click on Date to sort by time, then the default is
oldest first. Who thought that made sense? Is there any way to fix this
problem?

Hi, leftnotracks.

Where are you seeing "History"? In Internet Explorer? Windows Explorer?
Or some other program?

As the subject line indicates, this is in the Open and save dialogue. In most
programs there are icons to the left labelled "History", "Desktop", "My
Computer", and "My Network P..." (truncated from "My Network Places", no
doubt).
