history not clearing

I am on the latest 6.0 version of Explorer. Occassionally
when I go to tools, options, and select "clear history",
it appears as if it is working, but my history is still
there. Sometimes it clears, but sometimes it doesn't.

Any ideas on how to fix/resolve this?

Mike,
With no IE windows open, try it from Control Panel> Internet Options>
General> Clear History.

You might need to occasionally delete a (damaged) History folder- a new one
will be
created on restart.

History folder in Windows 9x,2K, XP.

Another program might be locking your history.
