History not being cleared properly - Red links remain

Here's the scenario:

My Home page is just a bunch of links that I created on a
single page.

At the end of each day, I go to Tools | Internet Options,
then Delete Files from the Temporary Internet Files
section. I delete all files including Offline files.

Next, I click Clear History from the History section.

Normally, all visited links (in Red) will return to Blue
once I refresh the page.

My computer decided to reboot for some unknown reason.
When I logged back on and tried to get all links back to
Blue, some remained Red. Not all, just some.

Somewhere, files (or caches) aren't being deleted, but I
can't find where.

Any ideas?

Mike,
You probably have a corrupted History folder.

Delete the damaged History folder- a new one will be created on restart.

History folder in Windows 9x,2K, XP.

Thanks for the response. This has happened to me so many
times between XP and Win2K that I finally called tech
support today.

We tried a number of steps. One that I hadn't tried
before was Clear SSL State. That appears to have done the
trick.
