Hijacked

Hi,

I'm getting really frustrated at IE. I'm minutes away from dumping it.

Home pages goes to res://rspvy.dll/index.html#96676. I've downloaded
and run a half dozen programs. Ad-aware, Spybot, CWShreeder, etc.,
etc. Nothing removes it and most don't find anything wrong.

First, is there anyway of generically fixing this. Not pages of
technical nonsense and pages of generic if what ifs.

Second, what is Microsofts OFFICIAL policy on this. If 3rd-party
vendors issue software which patches security bugs in their software
why doesn't Microsoft include official fixes for this? Why is Adware
(or something) necessary for fixing IE? Why isn't there a Microsoft
fix program? Why hasn't Microsoft included IE patches to prevent
this type of attack?

Other than switching to Netscape, what's the end-user solution
to this.

Thanks,

Brett

firefox from mozilla.org
and in ie tools, options, advanced, uncheck both 'enable
install on demand, apply. and while you are in there
'disable third party browser extensions' . and turn off
system restore to see if the spyware is hiding a copy in
there to come back out later.and then scan to clean.
and this could be new version of hijacker so you may have
to wait for updates in the spyware scanners.
and in ie privacy settings, i find that set at medium high
usually causes no website access problems.

Don't get mad at US we are all volunteers here.
Clean your computer and read the last article.

Try this: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing
Uncheck the Enable 3rd party browser extensions

If this clears your problem then find out who the culprit(s) is/are with
these tools.

Let AD-Aware Scan your system for advertising Spyware

and:

SpyBot-S&D

p.s Reset the 3rd party browser setting.

More: This may be caused by a third-party program (adware, spyware,
parasite).
Get AdAware and SpyBot and run them both. Keep them up to date.
