After a week of trying to recover my hijacked browser, after a week of
searching site after site for information, after a week of piddling with
my registry, after a week of failed anti-spyware scans, I finally, in
exasperation, found that the solution was incredibly simple. I just
tossed IE6 onto the trash heap (where it belongs) and downloaded Mozilla
Firefox 0.9. It is leaner, faster, better, and (needless to say) safer.
I am not even taking a glance back. At around 6 MB, it's also
a quick download.
