After returning from 6 days away from my pc (kids and hub were at home,
grrr) my start page has been reset to res://jtkje.dll/index.html#37049 and
there's no getting rid of it. I have upgraded and run Spybot S & D, Ad Aware
and CW Shredder. Nothing works. I also get a random popup window which of
course now won't pop up so I can describe it. *sigh*. As before, all my
visited sites now have random words as links which lead to "goto:whatever".
The last time, CWShred fixed it. This time, it doesn't recognize any
problems.

Thanks for any help.

This sounds like the same problem I am having. On the CWShredder site there
is a list of the known variants. Read the one called Realyellowpages-that's
what I think it is combined with another. If you use Hijack This and delete
the res://jtkje lines does it reappear with a different name? That is what
my computer is doing. Right now my IE redirects to
res://goak.dll/index.html#9667. If that is cleared, another URL appears on
startup, but directs the browser to the same search site. I have sent my
dll log to Merijn and am waiting to hear back The file he lists as the bad
file for this difficult to remove hijacker does not appear on my log. He's
going to take a look and see if he can ID the bad file for me. I have used
the three tools you have, plus a couple more, apparently notiong touches
this beast!

Yuck. *sigh*

I have to work tonight, but I'll play with it tomorrow. Thanks for the
suggestion!

I read that thread last night in its entirety, and it seems that the ones
who've had lasting success have done an XP system restore. Since it was
hubby or one of the kids that messed it up while I was gone, there's no harm
in trying it. *laughs*

Thank you so much for your help! I really appreciate it.
