Highlighting Outbox msgs prevents email from being sent

I am having an odd problem with Outlook 2003. When sending email, the email
correctly moves to my Outbox where it sits until automatically sent. While
in the outbox, the message is displayed in italics. However, if I highlight
the outbox email (NOT open it), the italicized text goes away. More
importantly. the email will no longer be sent.

Why am I fooling around with outgoing emails? I often place items in the
outbox to be delivered at a later time, and I may want to edit the item or
change its delivery time. Or sometimes I click on the outbox by accident and
an outgoing message is automatically highlighted. Whatever the reason, I may
end up with 3 or 4 items in the outbox at a time. Opening the outbox causes a
different outgoing email to be highlighted. Once highlighted, it will no
longer be sent, until I open it and resend it. Of course, I cannot do that
while in the outbox, because once sent, it gets highlighted again and --
Catch 22 -- the headaches repeat.

I never had this problem until this month and I cannot for the life of me
fathom why it is occurring! Any idea how I get Outlook to stop changing the
status of outgoing emails to avoid this problem? Thanks.

That is awesome! I did install a OneNote trial version recently. You would
think they would fix that. I will delete OneNote. Thanks!
