I'm trying to create a set of boot disks and, although knowledge base art. 310994 says I'll get a prompt to put in each of the six disks required, I get a "no room, use a higher density disk" message. I'm using 1.44 MB disks, and the fellow at the store says anything higher would be used in a "special" disk drive. I can't use the CD drive.

Download the file to your hard drive.
Insert a floppy.
Then double click the downloaded icon.
The executable will now run.
Insert the floppies as directed to make the boot disks.

Be sure you download the correct set, they are specific to language
and Service Pack.

Yippee! I think it worked! At least I have downloaded to the hard drive and uploaded to floppies. Why couldn't the original directions have given your advice??? At any rate, I'll send the disks home tonight to my son's house and he'll get his computer back up and running, and I'll have a backup if I ever need it. Thanks.
