When I use my new printer and camera a message comes up with use high speed
usb 2.0 port. But when I try to find this it says it is not on my windows xp
computer how do I upgrade to this what to I need to buy

Hi,

If your system does not have USB2 ports (only USB1.1), then you would need
to purchase a PCI add-on card for them. You need to check first that you
have an available PCI slot to install it in. There is no reason that you
have to do this though, as the devices will work on USB1.1, they will just
have a slower transfer speed.

Rick, Im running into the same problem as the first gentleman, but Im not
using a printer, Im using a camcorder and it seems to insist on a USB
2.0.....so do I just go down to COMP USA and buy a PCI add on card? what do
I do with the card? how do i check if I have an available PCI slot as you
said....I have two USB ports in the back of my computer...but none of them
are 2.0 evidently...

Thanks, brutha

If you are comfortable with opening up your computer case, open it up. Once
opened, look for white PCI slots. If you find once that is empty, you can
insert the USB 2.0 card into this slot. (Note: turn the computer's power off
from the back and not just from the front.)

If you are not comfortable in opening the computer's case. take the computer
with you to Comp USA and have them do it for you.

Yves, thank you for replying...yesterday was my first time to use this
newsgroup system..I am very excited about learning stuff here because I am so
clueless about computers....thanks, bro

I bought this camera yesterday and I dont have USB2.0 on my computer. I
have 3 USB1.1 ports and per Creative the product is backwords compatible.

- The camera box says "true usb2.0 also supports usb1.1"

- When I connect the webcam to one of the ports it says "windows unable to
recognize this unknown device". I have one PCI slot that I am using for
wi-fi. So I must get this camera to work on one of the 3 available USB1.1
ports.

Please help and let me know what I should upgrade in windows. I am using,

Microspoft WINDOWS XP HOME EDITION VERSION 2002 Service PACK 2

TOSHIBA SATELLITE MOBILE INTEL(R) P4 CPU 2.8Ghz.

The last time i hooked up a USB Camera the instructions said to load the
drivers 1st.........then reboot..
then connect the camera and the Wizard did the rest.....how did you
install??
