High-speed dialup - can it be replicated without additional fees?

Hi everyone,

It seems like everyone on the dial-up bandwagon is tooting their horns
about high-speed dialup: AOL, NetZero, Juno, you name it - they
probably have it.

I know it involves compression of information before sending and after
receiving, but is it necessary to pay additional fees for it to work,
or is that just another way for ISPs to get their hands in our
pockets?

Thanks,
Isaac

Are you losing $14,200.00 per year without your knowledge?

From what I understand of the compression "technology" they use depends
on the provider. I believe all of the above mentioned ISPs use their
own "compression" technology to work with the communications channel.

The compression is done on your PC and in their network, I believe.

Don't quote me, but I don't think there is really a way you can do this
yourself.
