I am working on my sister-in-law computer and I can not get the high speed cable to work. It works fine on mine and the dial up connection works fine on hers. I have tried everything I can think of including repair in the network window. I keep getting after the repair process ( renewing the IP address failed).
The system is windows xp pro upgraded from 98 Intel 601 processor, 256 megs ram, 20gig hard drive
I am trying to do all the updates and several other things, but with dial up it takes for ever. Please can someone help out
Thanks in advance!

You have to install the XP drivers for the Network Card.
