Hiding reviewer markup

I am not new to Word, I've been using it for 20 years, but this is the
only group that seemed close to what I want.

I am using MS Office Word 2003. I have a 200 page document with track
changes turned on that I have done a significant number of changes
too. I've sent the document to a reviewer who has made changes with
track changes turned on.

I would now like to review the changes that the reviewer made, so I
went to Show->Reviewers and unchecked my name so only others' changes
are visible. But as soon as I scroll using page up or down, or use the
arrow to navigate to the next change, all my changes re-appear.

I can turn off other reviewers and their tracked changes stay turned
off, it's only mine that keep reappearing.

This is incredibly annoying as it means I have to scroll through the
document looking for other people's changes so I can review them. Is
there any other way to do this?

Not a solution but a workaround. Make a copy of the document in which you
display only your own changes and then Accept All Changes Shown. What will
be left will be the other reviewer's/reviewers' changes.

Brilliant, thanks! I do much the same thing quite frequently to get
rid of formatting corrections (I wish there was a setting to ignore
them). Turn off insertions and deletions then accept all.

A tip I have is to turn off track changes when doing bulk updates of
fields (select all, F9) so that ToC and field updates aren't tracked.
They can add hugely to bulk for zero benefit.

Yes, on the rare occasions when I actually use Track Changes, I often turn
it off before making niggling formatting changes that I know the client is
not going to care about.
