Hide Send/Receive button in Standard Toolbar - Outlook 2003

I'm trying to hide the send/Receive button in the standard toolbar for
Outlook 2003. I've managed to disable it through GPO - but I need it to be
either hidden or removed from the toolbar.
Once I've worked out how to do this, I need to do it to about 400 PC's on a
network - so doing it manually on each PC isn't really an option.
If anyone can offer any suggestions, I would be eternally grateful.
Cheers,
Aaron

That would require writing and deploying an Outlook add-in or maybe some script, and even then the user could add it back in unless you block toolbar customization completely. Disabling it with GPO is your best approach.

Users adding it back in is not an issue - as it would be reset every time
they log back in; as part of their roaming profile.
Does anyone know if there is a GPO or registry setting I can change for the
Visible control of this button?
Alternatively, if anyone has the code for setting the Visible control to
False, it would be very much appreciated. FYI - the Control ID for the
Send/Receive button is 5488.
Cheers,
Aaron.
