Hide paragraph numbers of headings in outline view

Is there a way to hide the paragraph numbers of headings in outline
view? I don't need the numbers because the indentation level shows me
the hierarchy in outline view.

For this you would have to use a macro that formats the heading numbers as
hidden when Outline view is entered, and then clears the setting as you exit
Outline view. You may want to ask in a programming newsgroup, such as
microsoft.public.word.vba.general, for assistance.
