Hide data in pivot table?

I am using XL 2002, I am working in a faily simple pivot table that
identifies sales for customers by month [sum of month is in the data
field]. What I want is simply the sum of the month, as opposed to
seeing each months data listed, followed by the sum. This way the
report wont be 500 pages as well!

Any help is appreciated!

Remove all the fields except for that date from the Row field????

And group that date field by month and year.

The filed I want to keep is the sum field, which you cant select from
the drop down for that field. It is the sum I want to keep and the
months I want to lose.

Did you remove everything from the row field except for the customer name and
the date field name?

And if you right click on that date field icon, you can choose to group by month
and year.

David -

That was it - a couple of clicks and my problem was solved.
Thanks....and I thought I had looked everywhere.
