Hidden Folders

How do I create "hidden folders" within webs and subwebs,
meaning that a casual browser cannot view the contents
(files) of a folder by simply typing in the name of the
folder (i.e., http://www.myweb.com/folderA). Is there
a "global" setting somewhere in FrontPage (2000) that
I've missed, or is this a host server function. I've
been through all the stuff about hidden folders in
FrontPage 2000 Help (the part about _filename, etc.)

OK - When I do the above, the folders are enumerated on
the page, but the folder title, and all the other folder
info is missing. I can highlight a "folder" line, and
view the properties (by right click on the "blank" line),
but only the "general" tab is visible, with no
check/unckeck boxes available. Something must be
corrupted in my web????

A simple trick I use is to place a blank page
in a folder, name it index.htm
( or what ever your server default is )
and then use it as redirect to the real home page
using a 1 second meta refresh tag.
Then if they try to open a folder they are
automatically sent to the Home page.
