hidden devices

When I look in device manager and use the option "show hidden devices", some
drivers show up with an issue:

NON-plug & Play compatible drivers:

The following have a yellow exclamation mark:
- asapiW2k
- Microsoft HID class driver

And some others are in lighter gray color and don't seem to work properly.

Can these all be switched off, or removed safely?

If your system is working fine, I would not touch anything, unless you know
what the devices are being used for.

Alright, but I wonder: what's the point of "hiding" devices anyway?

To keep curious people that shouldnt see them from seeing them
automatically. Why isnt there a shortcut to the registry in the start menu?
For the same reason...
