Hidden comment numbers in word 2002

Hello,

I am using word 2003 to add comments to a document. Every comment
automatically numbers its self. ex "Comment [E1]:" "Comment [E2]:"

My problem is when these files are opened on my my colleges machine using
word 2002, the [E1] numbering is missing. How do we turn this numbering back
on so that she can view it?

Thanks,
Eric

Where do you want to see the initials and comment numbers? Assuming that I
remember correctly, Word 2002 only displays comments in balloons (unlike
Word 2003 or later where you get to choose).

We are both using the balloon type display. The text inside my balloons start
like this "Comment [E1]: bla bla bla", but when she opens the file on her
computer using word 2002 the text looks like this "Comment: bla bla bla".

Her's is missing that "E1" type numbering. How would she go about getting
that to display?

Thanks,
-Eric

No I didn't. And the weird thing is, when she adds more comments to the doc
using 2002, they have no numbering on her computer. But then when i open the
file on my computer, I see all of her comments with [J1] [J2] ect....

Is one or more of the Balloon Text, Comment Text, or Comment Reference
styles defined as hidden? Are you displaying hidden text in your Word
installation? How about your colleague?
