Hibernation

Can someone tell me why my computer no longer has the Hibernation option in
Power Options in the control panel? I know it was there, now it is gone. I
have the option to put my laptop into Standby mode, but when i close the lid
it acts like it goes to standby but when I bring it back up I have a error
message saying "Not enough system resources". If I hit ok then the system
comes up ok. I am not sure if a Windows Update has caused this to happen or
not. I am running XP SP2 if that helps.

Thanks.

Hi,
From the error message I think u should check out your page-file usage,
space used and free disk space.
Can u still choose hibernation in the option :'What to do when I close
the lid'?
When shutting down getting the option screen stand by, shut down or
restart, press shift, then stand by should turn into hibernation.

If non of this helps, then I'm out of idea's

WHere do I check out my page files usage?

Yes I can choose Hibernation in the Option of "What to do when I close the
lid."

When I press the shift key after selecting Shutdown and it brings up my
options to restart, shutdown, and standby it does not switch to hibernation.

Hi Scott,

I think you can refer to following article:

When you click ¡°Turn Off Computer¡± on the Start menu, the Hibernate
button does not appear in Windows XP Service Pack 2 or in Windows XP Tablet
PC Edition 2005

Hope it helps.
