Hibernation won't work

When I try to put the system into hibernation, i get an error message saying
there are not enough system resources to complete the API.
this happens every time I try, even when i close all applications
I am running a Pentium 4 2.8ghz desktop
I have 5.2gb free on my C:\ drive, and 1gb of RAM.
Norton System information tells me I have 3741mb of windows memory - 3487mb
free and 254mb used.
any ideas?

Thanks Thorsten
I tried this link, but the description there doesn't quite match the
symptoms. Rather than an error message referring to a specific device/driver,
I get the error message "Insufficient system resources to run the API", but
there is no error message number.
What I need is a clue to what this error message means. Could it still
relate to a specific driver? For instance, I have NVidia Twinview running to
support my dual display setup.

This could be hardware related, but I cannot find any reference for
the error message you mentioned. You will have to check manually what
causes the problem, f. e. via uninstalling hardware and hardware
enhancements.
