Hibernation via the command line?

I got a UPS last week and these things are great, by the way. But the
software that came with it only allows a shutdown. Although it allows
something being ran from the command line too. Thus why I want to try
having the computer go in hibernation mode instead, like Windows generic
UPS setting allows (which doesn't seem to work with this Robanton UPS).
I also have Windows 2000 also installed on this computer, so hopefully
the same trick will work for both 2000 and XP. TIA

You can also try WinOFF. It supports command line and is very good :

I used these freeware utlities:

Pwroff30
Winoff25

Available for download on the interent doing a little "Googling". Theres's
another called "sleeper.exe"

I got both Pwroff30 and Winoff25 working for a while on various machines
hibernating PC's via a command line in a batch file run in the "task
scheduler"
