Hibernation Question

A

Adam Turner

I have been using hibernation on my power settings for about a week now. I don't know if the issue is related but when my computer boots up, it runs the post, and when the WindowsXP splash screen is supposed to load, the computer sits there idle.

I have to run a repair through the recovery console and run chkdsk to get the computer running. I have to run the repair everytime I shut the computer down.

Are these 2 things related?

There's one way to find out. Get rid of hibernation. I believe it's an overrated feature, along with most of the power saving schemes
If you want to save some power, switch off the monitor when not in use. If you don't need the computer for a while, shut it off. Ho
quickly do you really need the computer to come on? How much time has hibernation saved you so far
Just my opinion. I'm sure others will disagree
