Hibernation - problems with enabling

Hi,

When I try to enable the hibernation in the power management window, I get
the message that translates to something like this (I am using non-english
version) :

"Power options manager could not allocate the hibernation file. The process
cannot access the file because it is in use by another process".

How could this be used by another process? I am using Windows XP Pro with a
single user scheme. I have 1.5 GB of RAM but enough disk space for the
hibernation file. Also I tries to find the "hiberfile.sys" but such file
does not exist.

I have another partition just for the swap file. It is 3.2 GB total size
with currently 2.2 GB of free space. The page file (pagefile.sys) is 1 GB at
most of the time (actually I don't remember getting this larger). My virtual
mem settings are:
C - no pagefile.
F - custom size min 1024 MB, max size 2048 MB (F drive is my partition
dedicated for the swap file).
Currently allocated : 1024 MB

Am I guessing correctly that the hibernation file goes to the same drive
where the page file goes? Is there any way to change this?

I have 4.6 GB free space on drive C at the moment.
In the power options / Hibernation tab it says: free space required for
hibernation: 1536 MB, Free space is 4 636 MB.

What could be the problem?

I am trying to use the Hibernation and Standby features on my HP Pavilion
zd8000 lap top. I am getting a message: The device driver for the 'Quick
Launch Buttons' device is preventing the machine from entering standby.
Please close all applications and try again. If the problem persists, you may
need to update this driver.
I have downloaded the said driver (sp29255) but to no avail, therefore I
also need someones help..........

Is there anyone

Hiberfil.sys must reside on the "system drive" (where windows is installed
aka /windows or /winnt) - if you don't have enough space on this drive (most
of the time it is C:) and it must be the same size as the amount of RAM
installed. Both of these shouldn't be an issue, as it looks as if C: is the
system drive and it has 4GB+ free (only 1.5GB needed), but it may be because
you have "NO" pagefile on the system drive. Try putting a 2MB/2MB min/max
pagefile on the system drive and give creating the hiberfil.sys another try.
You may wish to review KB 907477, as the PC/Laptop may not be 100% ACPI
compliant or you have hardware that interferes with the PC/Laptop entering
standby/hibernation.

I have set the page file to be 2MB/4MB min/max on drive C. WIthout rebooting
the file showed up on drive C (pagefile.sys).
But still enabling the hibernation gives the same error message. I rebooted
and the pagefile.sys from drive C disappeared (drive F remains with the 1GB
pagefile). Still no luck, still the same error message when I try to enable
the hibernation.
I checked the KB 907477 and some other links from that, I checked that ACPI
is functioning on my computer correctly. This is not a laptop, but a desktop
system (based on Gigabyte mainboard and Pentium4 CPU).

Any other ideas?
