or 'restart' come up, I don't get the hibernate option when I press the
'shift' button. how can i get the hibernate option?

My problem is that I do not even have a hibernation tab. I am using Windows
XP Pro Service Pack 2. Is there a way to retrieve the hibernation mode?

Hi Clayborn,

If you are running more than 1GB of RAM, there is a special patch
that you have to run. I run 2GB on my laptop and once I installed
the patch hibernation became available and works fine.

What's weird, is you can't find it on the web site. You have to call
customer support for Microsoft and explain the problem and give them
your e-mail address. They then e-mail you a URL to the file.
