hibernate / sleep not working

I am having some difficulty with hibernate / sleep. After a period of
inactivity, my computer will start to hibernate / sleep but after a a few
seconds (between 1 and 15 seconds) it will automatically wake up for no
reason. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone else have a solution
to this problem? I am running windows XP media center edition with the
latest Service Packs installed. Thank you in advance.
 
It may be something running in the background that is responsible. You
