Hi Speed USB host controller

D

Dave Abrams

I just installed a 7 port usb port. The computer says
that this Generic USB divice will function at reduced
speed when plugged into a non HI-SPEED port.

You must add a HI-SPEED host controller to obtain maximum
performance.

Where do I get this controller ????

Thanks for the information.

Are the USB ports on the motherboard 1.1 or 2.0 USB? If you connect a 2.0
hub into a 1.1 USB port, you will not gain ANY speed, it can only function
at the lower speed.

If you want a USB2.0 hub to run at USB2.0 speed, you must connect it to a
USB 2.0 port on your PC. If your motherboard does not have USB2.0 ports,
consider adding a PCI USB2.0 card.
