Hello Luis Miguel,

Is this a home machine, or one used in an office?

Do you have automatic updates turned on--for Windºws?

Windows Defender uses AutoUpdate--so if your automatic updates are, in fact,
coming directly from a Microsoft server, Windows Defender updates should be
as well.

Windows Defender updates are critical updates that should come through
automatically with an express scan.

Can you go to Windows Update, select Express (Get high-priority updates),
and apply all offered updates
http://update.microsoft.com

Once that is finished, can you verify the update installs? There are many
pre-requisite files which are needed from windows update and signature update
with windows defender will fail until you have these f!les.

updates to computers that are running Windows Defender

Hi Luis Miguel,

I have not seen any URL for the updates, I repit, the updates use the
WindowsUpdate, if you want to D/L manually, you have to check the NG for
Signatures for the manual D/L.

Please go to signatures NG, and read some posts.

This should work for Luis Miguel, but it would be helpful to know why he
wishes to know the URL.

If his firewall requires authentication unless it is for a connection to
specfic servers, then exempting the WindowsUpdate servers from
authentication would be the answer.

Actually, Luis Miguel--this article may be of help to you:
