There are a couple nagging quirks and questions that are slowly becoming an
unnecessary irritation. So your advice would free up some energy for me.
Here's what I'm looking at:

1) When I open up files, they will open up in alphabetically reversed order.
I have to scan backwards to find the right file name. Granted, I can go into
"View", click "list by name" and the order is corrected. But when I close the
file and return later, the order is once again reversed. Now that I'm
articulated this scenario, I'm having a difficult time recreating it so that
I may take you through it; step by step. But based upon what I've said, why
is Windows behaving this way and where can a adjust this? I haven't
experienced this in the 8 years I've used this OS.

2) I have an HP Compaq nx6110. Can I upgrade the memory to 2 gigs?
Apparently I have 2 cards of I have a graphics driver. Can I buy a new,
better driver altogether or add a graphics card to this? Can I upgrade my
processor without breaking the bank? (Currently at # Intel(R) Celeron(R) M
processor 1.40GHz Model 13, Stepping 8
# CPU Speed: 1396 MHz ).

I ask this because I'm going to be writing music on my laptop using various
software. Adding it will slow down a speed that already gets a little
sluggish from time to time. I've installed FREERAM XP PRO. And...I'd like to
improve my graphics for games.

3) Lastly....Writing a document. The cursor is right at the end of my last
word. I move my pointer to a different point in the text BUT DO NOT CLICK.
Even though I haven't moved the cursor, it automatically starts typing in the
spot that my cursor is pointing at. What genius came up with this "helpful"
feature. Suggestions?

Listen, I appreciate you taking the time to read this and respond.

1) If you mean in a regular folder, click the Name header to sort the other
way.

To sort items in ascending or descending order, click the column heading,
notice which way the arrow is pointing.

If you mean in Open or Save As...

Restore Sort order in Open and Save dialogs

Or...

[[To resolve this behavior, reset the default sort order:
1. Right-click Start, click Explore and then click drive C.
2. On the View menu, click Details.
3. Click the Name column to sort items by name, press and hold down the CTRL
key, and thenquit Windows Explorer by clicking Close in the upper-right
corner of the screen.
4. Release the CTRL key.
5. Restart your computer.

NOTE: You must perform these steps exactly as they are listed. For example,
do not quit Windows Explorer by clicking Exit on the File menu. ]]

Hi Wesley,

Thank you for your help. I value it.

1) I'll try your suggestions on this and see how we fare. I'm glad to have a
couple angles.

2) You know what's great to answer these questions for any user? Crucial
Scan. It takes a look at what you have under the hood and identifies any
upgrade capacities.

3) Good question. This is my experience if I'm writing a letter in Google or
working on a Word document.

You answered my first question and marked your response as question
answered. I hope this doesn't take my question out of cue, though. I'd like
to get your ideas on #3.

Season's Greetings

Peace,

-Jet
