Hello everyone, what would be the specs you want for around 1k bucks?

I've been shopping around and this is what I've come up with:
3.4 GHz Processor
12GB RAM
1TB Hard Drive
128GB SSD
2GB Dedicated Graphics Card

All the other specs are just standard stuff like ports and whatever.

Do you think I can do better that this for around 1k?

Sorry i'd want a lot more than that for $1000 or even £779.22 at todays rates

A 128GB SSD is not big enough imo. It will get filled very quickly

A 2GB GFX card well that's certainly old school. 5 Years ago it may have sufficed but if your planning on playing the more intensive games you may well struggle on med to high setting.

3.4Ghz CPU? Which type? The one above?

Personally I would stay away from integrated GFX on a CPU for gaming
I have always gone for a separate card.

A much better deal could be had for less or equal money if you shop around

For example go look on Amazon.com and do a search for "Gaming Computer Deals"
The first machine that popped up was this

https://www.amazon.com/SkyTech-Sieg...-1-spons&keywords=gaming+computer+deals&psc=1

Better value? I'd say so. Unless you are an Intel fanboy/girl?

Yeah, I'm with @TriplexDread on this - particularly a larger SSD. Maybe 256GB for a primary drive, then a secondary cheaper mechanical drive for large data storage. If it's a gaming machine, you'll want to run as many of your games from the SSD as possible.

Something like the NVIDIA 1060 GTX is still a good gaming graphics card, which will run pretty much anything. It's coming down in price (finally!) now too :).

Do some research into the company Skytech, before you buy. Look for feedback from other people before you commit if you decide to go down this road. Most or the feedback seems to be good

Look forward to reading about your choice.
