Vista is locking up requiring multiple reboots just like during the holidays
again!!! Are these folks allergic to the term testing???

this is a normal function of vista... why are you worried?

Vista was built to be unstable strange and unreliable...
Its no accident.. MS put 5 years into making such a POS OS.

they just didn't tell you that on the BOX.

seriously, if you want to work get XP

Why pay someone in Redmond to do the testing
when they can drop it on US and get it done on a
massively larger scale for FREE?

Peace Frank...

the world is a better place with vista long forgotten. Lets go ahead and
leave this mistake behind us ok?

Are you going to upgrade to windows7 when it comes out?

Oh I wanted to ask you one more thing.. you said in another post that you
had tried various versions of linux and had experience with it..

have you tried the latest Ubuntu?, (a nice way to get codecs running is ti
use automatix).

Im not a linux zealot... but I was positivly impressed by the latest ubuntu

why did you need to make a post telling him that he is wasting his time? Are
you wasting your time in here?

Do you really think your incessant
bitching about other peoples posts will change anything? Is your life that
pathetic that constantly bitching provides some comfort for you?
Please, explain to us why you feel the need to have a temper tantrum
about posters at public at every opportunity, and to people who have
mostly tuned you out. Isn't there a people who hate Vista Suck web page
somewhere for
you to throw your fits?

How old are you anyway?

most likely somthing you have installed causing the problem.
use MSCONFIG and stop all NONE microsoft programs from running at startup and see what happens.
'if it works, then start back adding HALF of the others at a time till you figure out which program is causing the problem.

Hey bozo, you need to get a real life. Living in your mom's basement
inside that cardboard space ship at your age is pathetic...LOL!

I asked you 2 questions can you please answer them?

1) are you going to upgrade to Windows7 when it comes out
2) Have you tried Ubuntu 7.10

I just copy pasted his crap and changed it to fit his own situation.. blame
him for the rants not me

What an idiot you are. If you don't like Vista, move on. You just love to
make trouble. Probably you are stuck in your moms basement banging on the
keyboard. I think Vista is probably way over your head. You just don't
understand it. Ubuntu should be your choice.

Frank doesn't answer questions. He only hurls insults, profanity, lies
and bluster. He's incapable of anything else.

I'll answer them for Frank:

1. He will as soon as it comes out and think it gives him some special
status for doing so, just like with Vista.

2. He's too stupid to install Ubuntu 7.10.

We will proly be involved in the beta, just like we have been involved
in all MS OS betas since W95B (OSR2).
2) Have you tried Ubuntu 7.10

Months ago. Nothing new in it that makes any difference at all.
Linux has no leadership as evidenced by 350+ distros. Want your own
disto...just do.
Problems with all linux:
1) poor or nonexistence hardware driver support
2) will not run the most popular software available today.
3) really old and outdated user interface.

Linux is like a ship without a captain that is languishing in still waters.
Frank

Here is my new theory about how Frank replies to posts in this newsgroup

This is what I said to franky...

"I am sure you have some automated rule loaded with insult replies..

whenever a post comes in from me or alias you dont even have to reply
manually

the rule selects one of the hundreds of preconfigured insults and posts them
as if you were really there...

saves you time, effort and does the same job as you would

HAHAHAH!"

Thanks for answering like a normal human...

I agree with 1 and 2, but 3 is not totally correct since its more
customizable than windows
and it has its own 3d rendering thing... In fact you can do more stuff with
the linux GUI,
because you have many desktops to chose from , Kde, Gnome, enlightment and
others.
P.S I tried KDE 4 and hated it!
1) poor or nonexistence hardware driver support
2) will not run the most popular software available today.

Do you think 1 and 2 are linux's fault? If not, whos ? If these problems
were solved then would you think Linux would be a good alternative?

Bullsh¡t. Like with Vista, it pays to do hardware research before
purchasing. ALL my hardware works just fine on three computers.
2) will not run the most popular software available today.
Bullsh¡t.

3) really old and outdated user interface.

If you think that, you've never installed Ubuntu properly.
Linux is like a ship without a captain that is languishing in still waters.

You wish. nVidia is selling their new graphic cards with Linux drivers
on the CD. What do they know that you don't? I, personally, have
installed Ubuntu on dozens of computers and all the clients are really
happy with it. Ubuntu is being discussed in the local and national media
here.

People are fed up with MS' crap and Linux is very user friendly now and
getting even more user friendly.

P.S. Frank, my reply is not really intended for you as I know you aren't
capable of grasping what I wrote. You are a mere platform to be used and
reused. It's intended for intelligent people with an open mind.

350+ and growing distros IS the problem.
Do you think 1 and 2 are linux's fault? If not, whos ?

Again, far too many distros.

If these problems
were solved then would you think Linux would be a good alternative?

It might be a start.
Frank

I have to agree with you on the number of distros.. I kept waiting for one
Distro to rule them all...

they have to start working on similar paths if they want to go forward

So what is best? Well I think they should make ONE BEST DISTRO, and have
other small projects on the side for those who want to experiment...

Perhaps Ubuntu has done that already to some point...

many other distros are switching to ubuntu based so they are using the same
code and just changing a few things here and there.

On the other hand this flexibility is good, because it lets people get into
the linux game, companies try to make their own stuff,
and you can find versions of linux that can do anything, from servers to
media centers ...

Its this freedom plus the involvement of millions of people working on this
platform that makes MS scared.

MS has money and professional programmers, but it cant beat the world! If
more and more people get on the linux train..
I don't see how MS can withstand such a force. And indeed this is the
trend.. we will see how things go..

If MS makes windows7 excellent then the masses wont want to switch and they
will retain their dominance...

It's much better than having one bad distro.
they have to start working on similar paths if they want to go forward

Having a choice isn't a bad thing.
So what is best? Well I think they should make ONE BEST DISTRO, and have

You mean like remaking Windows? Not the idea, I don't think.
Perhaps Ubuntu has done that already to some point...

From here on I agree:
many other distros are switching to ubuntu based so they are using the same

Fat chance. Monopolists don't create; they market, buy or steal others'
ideas and spread FUD.
